3.2.2 Stock Entry

  • A Stock Entry is used to move, consume, or produce items in inventory.
  • It updates stock quantities in the system based on manufacturing or material movement.
  • List itemStock Entry is mainly used during:
  1. Material movement between warehouses
  2. Manufacturing processes
  3. Consumption of raw materials
  4. Production of finished goods.

Types of Stock Entry Used in Manufacturing

1. Material Transfer for Manufacture

  • Material Transfer for Manufacture is used to transfer raw materials from the Stores (Raw Material Warehouse) to the Work In Progress (WIP) Warehouse before starting manufacturing.
  1. All details are displayed, such as Stock Entry Type, Posting Date, Time, Job Card No, and Work Order No.
  1. Raw material is transferred from the Stores warehouse to the WIP warehouse . All item details are shown in the Items table, including Source Warehouse, Target Warehouse, Item Code, Quantity, and UOM. Save and Submit the Stock Entry.

2. Manufacture

  • A Manufacture Stock Entry is used to record the actual manufacturing process.
  • It consumes raw materials from the Work-in-Progress (WIP) warehouse and adds finished goods (and scrap, if any) to their respective warehouses.
  • This stock entry is created after completing Job Cards and finishing the Work Order.
  1. All details are displayed, such as Stock Entry Type, Posting Date, Time, Job Card No, and Work Order No.
  • Item table show below details
  1. Raw Material Consumption - Raw material is consumed from WIP during manufacturing.
  2. Finished Goods Production - Finished goods are added to the Finished Goods / Stores warehouse.
  3. Scrap Generation (If Any) - Scrap generated during manufacturing is recorded and stored separately.
